Orange, United States CHEVROLET CAMARO MARKS 35 YEARS WITH LIMITED PRODUCED *SS* CAMARO Z/28 Concealed beneath that extended prow on both machines, a retuned version of Corvette's aluminum 5.7-liter V8 engine with forced air induction pushes the power curve 15 points above the Z28 rating to 325 hp at 5200 rpm, with torque skewed as high as 350 lb-ft at 4000 rpm. Six-speed Borg-Warner manual shifter puts a street-legal racer within reach. Those lower gear ratios kick in fast off the line, so the 'Vette-like phantom flies down a chute. Fifth and sixth overdrive gears lower engine speed at highway pace to conserve fuel. Full bore, it reaches 60 mph in five seconds and change, and moves across the 100 mph mark in only 13 seconds. Past 120 mph, fifth gear still shows strength, allowing Chevy's wingless jet to top out at the limit of sixth gear around 160 mph. The SS performance package, building on Camaro's Z28 version, also adds the forced air induction hood, unique spoiler, high-performance ride and handling package, low restriction dual outlet exhausts. A Monsoon stereo premium sound kit with in-dash CD player, and as an option a 12-disc remote CD changer. Please take your time and check out all the pictures of this REAL Black Camaro *SS*. No check engine light, etc. The body on this car is nice, NO dings, and NO dents, and only a few scratches, mainly on the bumper covers. The paint is nice & shiney. The left front fender had a cut near the headlight, and it was cheaper to replace it, than to fix it, so the fender paint is newer than the rest of the car. The rims are GM 5 spokes, and are mis-matched 275/40ZR17 tires on the rear, and 255/50ZR16's up front. 2 of the tires nice, and the 2 rears are poor.
