Car Notes
2007.07.31 Ebay

Schererville, Indiana

In 1996 Chevy brought back the "SS" model for the first time since 1972. This was a factory Z28 that was shipped to SLP engineering for modifications to make it an SS. SLP made a total of 2410 SS Camaro's with 2263 US models and 147 going to Canada (according to my research).

My research also shows only 154 Polo Green cars & only 74 of those were automatics. I have not been able to find how many were hardtops but most have t-tops which this car does not. Being in the automotive repair end I don't care for t-tops. Most leak & rattle and are not as structurally strong as a complete roof (please no hate mail from t-top lovers). I also prefer to shift myself, but this Camaro runs very strong & will break the tires loose into second with moderate throttle input. It is a blast to drive!

I am the 3rd owner & bought this car in May 2002 to add to my collection. It has been stored indoors, never in ANY bad weather, and only traveled 940 miles since then. It is detailed top to bottom. The reason I am selling it as that I had an auto repair business that I have since sold and no longer have enough room for all of my "toys". The Camaro is in excellant condition, the only thing that bugs me is the "normal" peckering (like stone chips) of the rubber nose cap. I have a clean CarFax for the car. I have done the following to the car in the last several years:

* Replaced the Opti-Spark unit (AC Delco replacement)
* Flushed the cooling system
* Replaced the transmission mount
* Replaced both power window motors (AC Delco replacement)
* Replaced the battery last year

The SLP mods include the following:

* Horsepower upgrade from 275 to 305 hp
* Ram Air style hood (completely functional)
* Corvette style 17" 5-spoke wheels, 275/40 tires.
* Torsen Limited Slip Differential
* Heavier sway bars & shocks

The car also has the "normal" factory options like A/C, P/S, P/B, Tilt, Cruise, P/W, PDL. It has a factory AM/FM cassette in the dash with a Pioneer 12 disc CD changer nicely installed in the L/R of the hatch compartment.

My conditions are simple. I have set my reserve at a very reasonable level, but please don't ask what it is. Just bid your price. I will delete "what is your reserve" emails. If you have any questions just drop me a line. I will be happy answer any intelligent questions about the car. If any of my research is incorrect please let me know. I always try to document my cars to the best of my ability...

Once again I wish I could keep 'em all but don't have the space. Good Luck & Happy Bidding!
